I don’t know about you, but I could be reminded more often that it’s okay to exhibit silliness, joyfulness, and youthful exuberance.
My daughter just swooped in for lunch, with her beautiful friend Phoenix, and as I worked away at the computer, they swarmed the kitchen and created food for themselves, all the while chatting and laughing like twittering birds pecking seeds from the ground on a spring day. Before I knew what was happening, they were driving away to return to another afternoon at high school.
I remain seated at the computer, the empty bowl of thrice-shared edamame on the table as evidence of their impromptu kitchen picnic.
But before they left I asked Phoenix, an extremely talented singer-songwriter, if I could share one of her songs that she thought might be the most zen-like. I offer it to you to enjoy, and hopefully it will bring a little youthful exuberance into your day as well. If you like it, you can hear more at her website, where you will find her CD and two free downloadable songs.
Have a wonderfully youthful day 🙂

Lovely post. I so love my girls and their friends stopping in at lunch.
Cheers.

Yes, it is so wonderful to have them still at home, albeit in brief 5 minute intervals most of the time. Too soon they will be moving on with their “real” lives and we will remain, wondering how they grew up so swiftly! Thanks so much for your comment 🙂
